favicon
A favicon (Favorites Icon )is a small graphic that is associated with a page or Web site.It is also known as a shortcut icon, website icon, URL icon, or bookmark icon. The favicon allows the Web developer to customize the site in the Web browser, both in the tab bar that is displayed in many browsers as well as in the bookmarks when a site is saved.
A Favicon is a multi-resolution image included on nearly all professional developed sites. The Favicon reflects the look and feel of the web site or the organization's logo. When a site has not created a favicon, IE will load the IE logo into the browser by default.
